My road to photography was in the works for longer than I even realized. As a young girl, I would trail behind my brother’s footsteps and be in awe of his film creations. The process of developing film, soaking it in water, waiting for it to dry, the darkroom, it was all so fascinating to me. He would work on all sorts of techniques and when studying strobe lights, I was lucky enough to be the little tiny muse. Even then I knew how important it was, the nostalgia of it all. In high school I took photography courses and in college I studied film, always staying as close to it as possible while learning other forms of art. Painting, acting, design and even opening my own shop. As with all small businesses, I wore many hats, my favorite one by far was the self-titled Product Photographer for my business. As I continued to further my knowledge and build my gear, it wasn’t long before I decided I would work towards getting people in front of my lense. My first muse, became my daughter. She was the inspiration, the drive and the push that I needed to further my career. Fast forward to now, and she is fully ready and prepared to join me as my second shooter with her little wooden camera.
